I AM writing in disgust at the closure of the homes for the elderly. A lot of these people have had to sell their homes to pay for their care.
Some are in their 90s and what harm it will do to uproot them and put them in a strange place with people looking after them they don't even know I hate to think. It would be soul destroying for younger people, let alone at their age.
What is sickening is that when the council were talking about closing the homes on the agenda was to give themselves a pay rise. What a laugh! If they cannot afford to keep the homes open how can they afford a rise for themselves? Quite a lot of pensioners will remember when councillors didn't get paid. Come on council, keep the homes open and spend less on tourism.
