I AM researching my family by the name of Axon. My great great grandfather Charles Axon and his wife Eliza Axon lived at Poolside, Thornton until her death in 1889. Charles moved to Shard View, Thornton. They had four children, Alfred, Frank, Amelia and Charles Henry.

Charles Henry moved away from the area while the other three stayed. I think Frank and Amelia died while still children, but Alfred was a railway clerk with the Preston & Wyre Railway. He lived at Derby Villas in 1892 and in 1909 he was living at Elletson Street, Poulton. Alfred died in Thornton in 1946.

I would be pleased to hear from anyone who knew this family or their descendants. Alfred would have been my great great uncle and he was 90 when he died.
