MR T. R. Miles (Your Letters, July 28) writes about drivers and retired people who, he thinks, are likely to have a grudge against this government.
I am retired and a driver, and perhaps we do have some grudges but I am not going to be charged for my eyes to be tested, I am getting a fuel allowance and, soon, I will not have to pay for a TV licence. How sad I will be about that!
Mr Major used to take a bit of tax out of my pension, but Labour have stopped that. And no one can say that the Tories did much for drivers, either.
I could "go on", like Mr Miles, but I think I will wait until the Tories return to power. Then we will be able to get our teeth into some real grudges!
JOHN LLOYD,
