ST JULIE'S church, Eccleston, celebrates its 40th anniversary next year and parish priest Father Tom Neylon is seeking help in tracing its roots. Writing in the parish newsletter, he stated: "Father Cyril Higham said Mass at Notre Dame School on Sundays and in his home at Ecclesfield Road during the week, and we know that the first baptism took place there in 1961. I am trying to establish when the first Mass was celebrated as we are hoping to mark the anniversary in a special way," added Father Neylon, who can be contacted on St Helens 28196.
