A HOST of arts events and activities will be staged during a ten day festival in East Lancashire.
Youth Arts 2000 will offer a programme of performances and workshops ranging from music and dance to theatre and poetry for young people aged 11 to 25.
The project, which is being supported by the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, is part of the East Lancashire Arts and Tourism Expansion Project (ELATE). It will take place between Friday, October 13 and 22.
Five youth theatres will team up during the fun and their efforts will culminate in a showcase performance at Darwen Library Theatre, planned for Saturday, October 14.
Those taking part in the scheme include Pendle Youth Orchestra, Manchester Camerata Orchestra and performing arts students from Accrington and Rossendale College.
A full colour brochure listing all the fun will be out in September. Copies are available by ringing Kary on 01282 437840 or by writing to ELATE Project, FREEPOST, NWW 3778A, Burnley, BB11 1ZZ.
