VISITORS to Blackburn's Witton Country Park during the next couple of weeks can go really potty!
The park's visitor centre is hosting a two-week residential arts project, giving people the opportunity to create ceramic work in a series of clay workshops.
Parks development officer Bronwen Earnshaw explained: "This is a first for Witton Country Park Visitor Centre and is a great opportunity for everyone to mould and fire ceramics, and also see kilns in operation."
Local artists Julie Miles and India Campbell are running the project, and they have between them 11 years' experience of working with ceramics.
Bronwen added: "Whether you want to try your hand at throwing pots, help build a kiln or even just come along to watch, I'm sure we will have a great deal of fun -- although their may be a few breakages between the flames."
The workshops are based on the natural environment and the park's history and are open to everyone from August 7 to 20.
Children must be accompanied by adults.
The workshops will run from 1pm to 4pm Monday to Thursday, and admission is free.
