ALLOW me to thank all the people who took part in our recent balloon race to commemorate our change of name from the Blind Welfare to Galloway's Society for the Blind.
While the majority of balloons were found in the Rishton and Great Harwood area, the winner was found in Shipley, West Yorkshire, and prizes have now been awarded to both the finder and the owner.
The event raised just over £500 and grateful thanks are extended to all who purchased a balloon and all who found and returned them at their own expense.
PETER TAYLOR, Director, Galloway's Society for the Blind, Howick Park Avenue, Penwortham, Preston.
