PRESTON remain entrenched at the bottom of the league table after they were beaten by six wickets at Lune Road.
Put in to bat, Preston lost their first wicket at eight when opener, Paul Greenwood was bowled by Graham Barnes for four runs.
Then Antony Mann and Paul Paynter redressed the balance with a 45 runs partnership for the second wicket before Mann was lbw to Barnes for seventeen.
Paynter was dismissed shortly afterwards when he was caught behind by Brendan Hetherington off Lancaster professional, Gareth Breese for 29. His cameo of an innings included four fours and one six.
Preston professional, Scott Henderson top scored with 31 before he was bowled by Neil Jordan. He was ably supported by Jabir Namajee, who made 22, before being stumped by Brendan Hetherington off leg-spinner, Gareth Breese for 22.
The tail wagged with Julian Edwards making 15 before being bowled by Gareth Breese. Last man, Paul Shaw remained unbeaten with three. Lancaster professional, Gareth Breese produced his best bowling figures of the season with 6-38 from 21.4 overs.
Lancaster openers, Paul Taylor and Danny Hagen put on 26 runs for the first wicket before Hagen was bowled by Namajee for six.
Taylor and Gareth Breese took the score on to 58 before Taylor was trapped lbw by Scott Henderson for 37. He hit four fours and a six.
The third Lancaster wicket fell at 95 when Breese was lbw to Henderson for 27. Luke Phillips and Phil Dennison featured in a 45 runs partnership for the fourth wicket before Phillips was caught and bowled by Namajee for an excellent 52. He batted 95 minutes and hit eight fours.
Dennison and wicket-keeper., Brendan Hetherington were together when Lancaster recorded their third victory of the season. Phil Dennison was unbeaten with nine and his partner Brendan Hetherington with five.
