BLIND athlete Mike Ogle was one of four Chorley Harriers to complete the Tour of Tameside, a six race series held over seven days with a total distance equal to two marathons.
For Mike the highlight was the descent in the fell race.
'My guider Pete Gillham doesn't take any prisoners' he said. Jeannette Coleman won the 2nd L40 prize for the Harriers while Sheila Fogg of West Pennine Runners improved on last year's time by 14 minutes.
Neil Holding and Bernice Greenhalgh of West Pennine and Martin Harrington of Chorley Harriers all reached the finish but Rossendale's Dave Lewis dropped out of the half marathon after having placed 3rd in each of the first three races.
