TWO Blackpool girls got the chance to be guest traffic readers on Rock FM after the station took to the roads on a tour of talent around the North West.
Janina Conboye, from Cleveleys, and Rebecca Wells, from Blackpool, faced fierce competition as they plucked up the courage to audition for the chance to be the voice of Rock FM's traffic and travel information.
Regular traffic reader Jude Vause was on holiday for two weeks and so Rock FM decided to fill her position with some new talent.
The final two were given a week each to present the traffic on Brian Moore's breakfast show.
After hours of listening to all the contestants the Rock FM team chose just three -- Janina, Rebecca and Lyndsay Bamber, from Clitheroe.
After the girls presented the traffic for one morning each the final decision was down to a listeners' telephone vote. And local girls Janina and Rebecca topped the poll.
Janina, aged 17, said: "It's been a fabulous experience, especially as I am considering a career in broadcast journalism."
She was on air all last week and Rebecca, who is also revelling in her success, is broadcasting this week.
