1919: Mega-rich Andrew Carnegie, who wanted to leave this world poor, died. In just 18 years before his death he gave away $350 million worth of cash and goods including 7,689 church organs and still had $22 million dollars left.
1415: 1,500 ships of the British Armada set sail from Portsmouth under Henry V. Among the 2,500 men at arms and 8,000 archers was a party of fifteen minstrels. Henry went on to conquer Northern France, marry the French King's daughter and get appointed heir to the French throne.
