MR B Greenhalgh writes (Letters, August 8) that Blackburn has been his home town for 68 years and he finds the whole of it dirty, including the town centre.
I wonder if super Councillor Ashley Whalley agrees.
If not, could I ask him to stand on Preston New Road, opposite Alma Street and look towards Sudell Cross?
The view down the right-hand side of Preston New Road is appalling.
It's not much of an advert to come shopping or strolling along the tree-lined boulevard of Church Street is it?
Nor is it conducive to council leader Malcolm Doherty's dream of city status -- unless, of course, it will be slum city!
