RESIDENTS in Brandlesholme, Bury, are gearing themselves up for a new battle with a leading telecommunications company.
Only two months after homeowners blocked plans for the installation of a mobile phone mast in the Kirklees Valley, a second application has been submitted by BT Cellnet to planning chiefs in Bury.
The proposal is for the installation of a 12 metre high wooden telecommunications pole, featuring six antennae and two microwave dishes, at the Garside Garage in Garside Hey Road.
Vodafone Ltd are behind a separate planning application to install a radio base station, comprising six antennae, at Peel Mill in Gordon Street, Bury.
Both applications will be discussed by the planning control sub-committee on September 12.
