A RADCLIFFE photographer has "snapped" up yet more top awards.

Mr Daniel Parker (33) who set up Parker Photography in his Joseph Street home three years ago has received two merits at the annual regional print competition of the Master Photographers Association.

It was his avant garde portraits, pictured below, which earned him the awards.

"Most people, especially the younger clients, generally don't want to be photographed in a studio next to a potted plant. That '80's style is dead and unappealing," said Mr Parker.

He has stopped using a studio and shoots all his clients either in their own homes where they're comfortable or, more frequently, out on location.

"People look better when they feel at ease. I don't have a problem with screaming children because I just photograph them having fun."

Mr Martin formerly worked for the Employment Services in Prestwich but then decided to take voluntary redundancy so he could turn his photographic hobby into a business.

He did a two year "A "level course at Bury College where he hooked up with a professional wedding photographer who employed him on a part time basis. He later launched his own company under the Headstart initiative, run by Bolton and Bury Chamber.

Last year Mr Martin won two awards from the British Institute of Professional Photographers.
