A YOUNG Lancaster man responsible for two burglaries was sent to prison for 18 months this week after the judge told him "enough is enough."
John Clegg, 20, made off with credit cards from a business premises and his second offence occurred at a student flat where he was confronted by a female student.
Clegg, of Lincoln Road, had been committed for sentence by Lancaster magistrates on charges of burglary committed in April and May this year.
Defence barrister Miss Sharon Watson said Clegg had been drunk on both occasions.
She told the court: "Obviously it would have been terribly distressing for the woman to find him wandering along her landing. When approached by a female police office he didn't attempt to flee but went quietly on arrest. While at the police station he actually fell into unconsciousness due to the level of alcohol he had consumed."
Judge Andrew Black told Cleg he had a bad record which included a previous conviction for a house burglary.
He said: "Enough is enough. The time has come when you are going to have to serve your first sentence in custody."
