REGARDING the letter "Tragic Death is Too High a Price to Pay" published last week.
I am disgusted, both by the letter writer, Peter Atkinson, and yourself for publishing it.
The writer appears to be using this tragic death for his own twisted, political aims to castigate car drivers.
This is both unfair on the car driver and the parents of the deceased.

The circumstances surrounding this tragic death are still being investigated and will be made public at the inquest.
We cannot and would not print any conjecture as to what happened.
In Mr Atkinson's letter he said that the fatal accident had made him "reflect" on what he believes to be is the domination of the motor car in society.
He's entitled to express his opinion just as you are -- Ed.
