A SPORTING organisation founded in 1928 has given up its fight for survival after battling against shortage of players and general lack of interest.
Former president Ron Parkin and veterans Jim McCooey and Denis Whittle, plus former committee members, were among the handful who formally wound up St. Helens Table Tennis League.
The last rites were performed at Sutton Cricket Club, when arrangements were made for disposal of the league's assets.
