I AM a local resident of Blackpool and I am disgusted with the state of Blackpool. I was in the armed forces for many years and was fortunate to travel over the world. After leaving the services we decided to move back to Blackpool where my wife and I
are both from.
But the state of the town centre is disgusting and the visitors that use it are also disgusting. On Saturday my wife and I and our young son walked around town. The Daily Star was being given away and these were all over the pavements by the afternoon and the town looked a mess. Visitors were just throwing them away and you speak to these people and the abuse you get is untrue. The language is something that we don't want to hear around town.
This should be a family town and that's the way we want it. As your article also says about the the "sleaze and vulgarity", the sooner we get rid of this the better and bring that family element back so we, the local people, can go into to town and enjoy OUR TOWN.
