CENTURIONS hooker Anthony Murray has joined Northern Ford Premiership rivals Barrow Border Raiders on a free transfer.
Murray, who lost his place in Leigh's starting line-up to Mick Higham early in the season, was the top try scorer at Hilton Park in 1999.
After losing his place, Murray asked for a move and spent the latter end of the season on loan at Rochdale but returned to Hilton Park when an ankle injury kept him out of action.
At Craven Park, Murray has signed a one-year deal and will replace top hooker Dave Clark who is returning to Australia.
Coach Paul Terzis says Murray goes with Leigh's best wishes.
"We fully understand Anthony's frustration at not being able to hold down a regular starting spot," he says. "He's been a valuable player for this club and we hope that this move gives him the satisfaction he's looking for."
