BRADFORD City may have to up the ante if they want to prise Ashley Ward away from Ewood Park.
The Bantams are still hopeful of luring the 29-year-old striker to Valley Parade in a £1.5 million deal, even though they have yet to make Rovers a formal offer.
But, with the player seeking a settlement off Blackburn to cover the remainder of his contract, City may now have to raise the stakes to make up the difference.
Chief Executive John Williams is hopeful an agreement can be reached this weekend.
But he insists there has still not been any official bid.
"We have had no club to club dialogue -- that's still the position," said Williams.
"But we will have to see if we can sort something out. We have made it clear to Bradford what we require from the deal so it's up to them."
Meanwhile Alan Miller and Simon Grayson completed their loan moves to Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday respectively yesterday and both players could feature for their new clubs over the weekend.
Rovers were also planning to unveil a new style lottery ticket at today's game against Crystal Palace. Instead of the Rovers Return, they have introduced a new bingo game with tickets priced 50p. The first draw was set to be made during half time at today's game.
