MOVES to allay residents' concerns over an in-line skate park in Colne could cost £12,500.
People have complained about excessive noise and other problems since the park was created in Alkincoats Park in May 1999.
A report to Pendle Council's Colne area committee outlined three possible solutions. They are:
Relocate the existing steel half-pipe skating feature to a more acceptable location -- cost £12,500.
Dismantle and store equipment -- £5,000.
Dismantle half-pipe and replace with equipment made out of stone and concrete -- £6,750.
The report by parks manager Colin Patten said no money was available in the existing parks budget. Despite efforts to resolve the problem there was still strong opposition to the skate park. "This is clearly a difficult issue on which there are differing views," he added.
The committee asked the authority's resource management committee to look at ways of funding the options.
