CRICKETERS have been hit for six by the success of the South Asian Millennium Cricket Festival held at Pleasington Playing Fields.
Hundreds of people turned up to watch as six teams battle it out on the cricket field.
But it was the players from the Kashmiri Cricket Club who came out victorious and won with the last ball of the match, scoring 91 off their 10 overs, to the Chilled Out Eleven's score of 90.
Organiser Parwaiz Akhtar, who also runs the Muslim Youth Cricket League, said: "It was a really tremendous final and a great day out for everyone.
Part of the South Asian Millennium Festival, the match aimed to encourage young people to take an active interest in sports and maybe even pursue a future career in cricket. Mr Akhtar said: "It's all about awareness and making sure that instead of just watching sports, young people take part themselves."
