I AM the UK representative of Kure City History Library, in Japan and am anxious to contact ex-servicemen who served, in the Kure area, between late 1945 to 1956.
The object is to seek out the memories and old photographs, etc. so that the history of the post-war occupation and later use of Kure as a Korean War base depot, can be recorded.
To date, more than 295 ex-servicemen have helped.
We also invite ex-servicemen to participate in our October, 2000, 12-day 'pilgrimage' to Japan, taking in Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara and especially Kure.
