TIME FOR ACTION
12Isiah Rankin shot from 25 yards which Paul Crichton could only parry
26 Penalty. Ian Cox harshly judged to have fouled Rankine, who's equally unlucky to see his goal chalked off. However, Per Frandsen avoids controversy by slotting home to make it 1-0.
30 Andy Cooke into the book for barging over Bergsson.
34 Steve Davis misses a great heading chance for the Clarets from Briscoe's fine cross as an equalising chance goes begging
47 Substitute Glen Little makes an instant impact but after combining well with Paul Cook and Gray lifts his shot over the top
50 Little involved again but Cooke and Gray both fail to make decent contact in front of goal and a double chance slips by
53 A rare Bolton attack but almost a goal as Crichton saves well from Gareth Farrelly and Mitchell Thomas blocks the follow up from Rankin
55 The equaliser. Paul Weller's quick-thinking releases Little from a throw-in, and Little's perfect cross is met by a diving Gray to make it 1-1
68 With the Clarets on top Little wins another corner which Davis heads narrowly wide
80 A real scare at the other end as debutant Ian Marshall almost bags a winner only for Thomas to clear off the line
83 Weller sparks a Burnley break but Graham Branch can't hold his run and is offside as he slips home Gray's cross
88 Late scare as the ball bounces round the Clarets' box but enough bodies back to avert the danger and safeguard a deserved point for Burnley TALKING TACTICS
WITH both sides playing 3-5-2 they largely cancelled each other out before the break when Bolton had marginally the upper hand. However, Glen Little's introduction at half-time saw Burnley play the ball into feet more and with no-one able to pick up Little's runs from a position just in from the right flank, the pendulum swung Burnley's way.
SET-PIECE WATCH:
PAUL Cook's left foot was the weapon from Burnley's free-kicsk but the telling dead-ball factor for the Clarets was Paul Weller's quick throw-in which released Glen Little to cross for Phil Gray's clincially taken 55th-minute equaliser.
TURNING POINT:
UNDOUBTEDLY the introduction of Glen Little at half-time. The substitute put Bolton on the back foot straight away and they didn't recover until the dying stages as Paul Cook and Kevin Ball drove the visitors forward alongside him. Little gave Burnley a greater cutting edge and sent confidence coursing through their veins.
