CHERRY TREE showed they have not given up in the chase to the top of the Jennings Ribblesdale League with a rampaging victory over EARBY.

The Blackburn club set a target of 202-6 with Daryl Redhead 62 not out and professional Naeem Ashraf 53.

The Earby club collapsed to 57 all out with Gary Bolton taking 6-28 including his first hat-trick.

Top club RIBBLESDALE WANDERERS had to be content with two points when their match against BAXENDEN was abandoned as rain swept across the district.

Baxenden had scored 125-9 with Dave Usher on 60 and David O'Neill took 5-47, Wanderers were on 80-4 when the rain hit.

CLITHEROE swept PADIHAM aside with a total of 182-8 thanks to Mark Bolton's 53 not out.

Neil Bibby took 6-31 as Padiham were dismissed for 89.

GREAT HARWOOD beat SETTLE by five wickets with Paul Houldsworth taking 7-36.

Stand-in professional Mark Conyers from Milnrow in the Central Lancashire League scored 42 for Settle and Paul Houldsworth scored 51 as Great Harwood secured victory.

Young bowler Imran Ahmad took a wicket on his debut for BARNOLDSWICK as they captured a seven wicket win over OSWALDTWISTLE. Mark Temple took five wickets for 17 runs as Immanuel were bowled out for 86 and the Victory Park club knocked off the winning runs with three wickets down.

BLACKBURN NORTHERN scored 109 with professional Ata-ur-Rehman on 61 and EDENFIELD scored 66-7 in the rain-affected game with Rehman taking 6-26 as his side secured victory. WHALLEY'S game with READ was also affected by the weather. Read scored 221-4 with Michael Whalley 72 and Gary O'Connor 52 not out. Dave Pearson scored 52 as Whalley replied with 105-3.
