READING Ron Freethy's Nature Watch (LET, August 2), we could imagine his delight at seeing three hedgehogs in Brierfield Woods.
While these hedgehogs were clearly attracted by the slugs brought out by the rain, if you see a hedgehog foraging in daytime it usually means the hedgehog is ill.
Please make sure it is taken to a vet or hedgehog hospital for attention.
If you like hedgehogs and would like to see them, try leaving a dish of tinned, meat-based pet food and a bowl of fresh water in the garden in the evening.
