THE driver and two passengers of a car involved in a road traffic accident are to be interviewed by police.
A full investigation has been launched as a result of an accident shortly before midnight on Friday (Aug 11) in Bolton Road, Radcliffe, close to its junction with Harper Fold Road.
One of the passengers, William Wilson (30), of The Willows, Bradley Fold, Radcliffe, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was cut free from the wrecked Austin Maestro.
The car, which was being driven by Mr Paul McManus (26), of Derwent Drive, Bury, hit a parked Ford Orion before veering into the path of a Nissan Sunny taxi. The cab was being driven by Mr Mohammed Khursheed (36) from Bolton. He was not injured.
Fire crews were forced to use hydraulic cutting equipment to free the occupants of the Austin car and police closed the road in both directions during the rescue operation.
Mr Wilson suffered injuries to his head and chest as a result of the collision and was taken to Bury General Hospital, where his condition is described as "comfortable and improving".
