THE driver of a lorry fully loaded with refuse escaped with what are believed to be minor injuries when the vehicle overturned on a bend in Burnley Road East, Lumb.
The road was closed and diversions were put into operation.
The high-sided 41-ton articulated lorry belongs to JWT Waste Management.
The road was closed between Crown Point Road and Shawclough Road causing long diversions for people setting off for work. No other vehicle was involved in the accident which happened at about 6.15am today.
All three emergency services attended the scene. The driver was taken by ambulance to Burnley General Hospital.
Fire crews made the vehicle safe while heavy equipment was brought into put the vehicle back on to its wheels.
