WORKERS from an East Lancashire garage plan to scale a hat-trick of mountains across the UK in less than 24 hours in their latest charity challenge.
The team, from Westwood Garage Mercedes Benz, Rishton, hope to top Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Snowdon, Wales, to raise money for the Christie's Against Cancer fund.
Last year the group, led by foreman Patrick Keane, 29, of Clayton-le-Moors, successfully climbed the Three Peaks in Yorkshire.
Now Patrick, Ian and Colin Clayton, Jordan Duckett, Phil Groves, William Gilmartin and Gary Mattison are determined to achieve their latest goal in less than a day -- and that's including the driving.
Patrick said: "We decided to set ourselves a bigger challenge than last year and this seemed like a good idea.
"We have been training hard for it and hope to raise at least £1,000."
Jacky Plant, appeals officer for the charity, said she wished the gang the best of luck.
"They have set themselves a great challenge -- but it's not something I could do."
