GARRY Flitcroft believes David Dunn could have a big future ahead of him after his starring role in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend.
Rovers' new skipper has been hugely impressed by his central midfield partner since manager Graeme Souness paired them together during pre-season.
And the 27-year-old former Manchester City star believes they are starting to develop an impressive understanding in the centre of the park.
"I think Dunny is going to be a great player," said Flitcroft.
"He's only a young lad, he's full of enthusiasm and he wants to be all over the picture.
"I just wish sometimes he'd stick in there a little bit more and not leave me exposed.
"But I think he's got a great future ahead of him, he's going to score goals this season, and if I have to play more of a holding role in order for him to do that, then so be it."
