AN ELDERLY woman was the victim of a robbery in Wood Street Post Office, St Annes, on Monday (August 14).
St Annes police are searching for a man and woman who were pretending to view a selection of postcards at around 1.20pm when the man reached into the lady's handbag and stole cash, along with her pension book and bank books.
PC Alan Robertson explained that the elderly woman reported the crime immediately and was visibly shaken and distressed for some time afterwards. The man was white, 6ft tall and in his 30s. He had short dark hair and wore a dark coloured top, light trousers, dark shoes and carried a light cream jacket.
The woman was aged 25-30 with shoulder-length blonde hair, and wore a three-quarter length dark coat.
PC Robertson said: "We would like to speak to anybody who was in the post office or the area on Monday afternoon." Call either PC Roberston or DC Higham on (01253) 604697.
