PRESTWICH Hospital is to receive Government cash to help improve care for patients.
The specialist mental hospital has been earmarked to receive most of a £35,000 Government grant to Bury and Rochdale Health Authority to improve mental health care for the borough's children and young people.
Money will go towards paying for seven day emergency access and out reach assessment for sufferers in the borough and investment in services provided by Prestwich hospital.
Dr Kevin Snee, director of Public Health for Bury and Rochdale said: "These funds are essential to develop this important area of mental health services. More specialists will allow more local children and adolescents to benefit from their expertise around the clock.
"This development will help to ensure that this vulnerable group has improved access to much needed services including in-patient and outreach assessments."
