IT WAS lucky 13 for Pendle Council staff when they picked up health and safety awards.
The Mayor of Pendle, Councillor Ian Gilhespy, presented certificates to the staff who successfully completed the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health's managing safety course.
The course, which was run one day a week over five weeks, looked at various issues and each staff member had to complete work-based risk assessment, a report and two examinations in order to gain the certificate.
The certificates were presented during a ceremony at Nelson Town Hall on Wednesday.
The staff involved were Neil Berry, Tony Cornish, Julie Fox, Graham Harrison, Ernie Hoyle, Pat Hudson, Quammer Iqbal, Ann McDonna, Fred Stewart, Shahzad Tabassum, Michael Walker, Nigel Waterworth and Steven Watson.
