THE wheels of politics have been turning in the Ribble Valley this week with local MP Nigel Evans' summer mobile surgery.
A gruelling schedule has been undertaken by Mr Evans and his entourage and by the time the tour was due to finish this afternoon, every village and town in the constituency will have been visited.
It is a chance for the MP to move freely (barring any herds of cows and flocks of sheep on the country lanes) around the area, giving even the more remote constituents a chance to meet him and air their views.
It is the nineth time Mr Evans has hit the road like this and, he says, each mobile event has been more successful than the last.
He said: "The event has gone really well. We have had a lot of interest, especially in areas where residents have grievances.
"The beauty of a mobile surgery is that we are there on site to look at the problems immediately and at first-hand.
"But it is just great for me to meet the people and the local councillors and, with the advantages of modern technology such as mobile phones and lap tops, I am never far away from my 'desk'!"
