BLACKPOOL had to settle for four points when rain brought a premature end to their match at Stanley Park, which finished Blackpool 215-4, Leyland 20-2.
Leyland won the toss and put Blackpool into bat and openers, Chris Cornall and Steven Croft shared an opening partnership of 57 before Croft was bowled by Nasser Afsar for 15.
Cornall and Lomas dominated the Leyland bowling attack with an 80 runs partnership for the second wicket before Lomas was caught behind for 22.
Blackpool lost their third wicket at 139 when Richard Lamb was caught and bowled by leg-spinner, Mark Swan for a single.Cornall, and Blackpool captain, Rudra Singh restored the balance with a 67 runs partnership for the fourth wicket before Cornall was trapped LBW by Stephen Pallett for a magnificent 128. This was his maiden century for the first team.
Blackpool declared at 215-4 after 53 overs. Rudra Singh was 33 not out, and Darron Walton was 1 not out.
In reply, Leyland only had 8-2 overs before the rain drove the players off the field never to return.
