GLAZEBURY earned a draw against a strong Westleigh side in their Manchester Association game at Leigh.
The home side batted first and got off to a flying start thanks to Moon (67), Blood (58) and Entwistle (49). Glazebury tightened their attack and picked up useful late wickets, Tomlinson claiming 2-55, as Westleigh posted 227-8.
But Glazebury, although batting steadily, could not match the run rate and finished on 147-8. Ian Black was top scorer with an unbeaten 48.
Glazebury's second team went down against league leaders Westleigh - but only after a grim struggle.
Put in on a difficult wicket, they battled to 113-8. Mike Durrington hit an invaluable 44 and Sean caine offered good support with an unbeaten 22.
The Westleigh pace attack was always on top but was made to fight for wickets.
Some wayward bowling gave Westleigh a good start and although Durrington picked up two wickets to complete a good all-round performance, they had little difficulty in reaching their target.
