LEIGH Town Centre Trail exhibition is on the move!
It is being switched from Leigh Town Hall to Atherton Library.
Produced by Wigan Council's Planning Department, the trail is the first detailed account of Leigh's built environment, providing walkers with a guide to the town's proud history and development.
The exhibition is accompanied by a 66 page booklet 'What to Look for in Leigh', which contains details of Leigh's progress through the ages, its industry and fascinating culture.
And there is a short section in the booklet about Leigh people who have contributed to the nation's cultural heritage -- including 60s pop icon Georgie Fame and 18th century artist and diarist Joseph Farrington.
Councillor David Molyneux (Regulation), said: "This is a fascinating exhibition which will introduce non-Leythers to the town's extensive history and hopefully foster an interest in the equally fascinating book."
