TV star William Travis is looking forward to a saddle-sore Sunday.
But it's all in a good cause as he joins around 30 intrepid cyclists for the annual Southport to Tyldesley Sponsored Bike Ride.
The Leigh-based actor, who features in TV's 'Where the Heart Is', will need to show some real pedal power on the 35-mile trek as he must arrive in Tyldesley in good time to open the Fourways Garden Party.
"But I was a decent cyclist at one time," he revealed. "I used to bike to Wigan Pier and back when I was working there."
William will be riding a Claud Butler 24-speed mountain bike donated by Rendezvous 1 owner Cedric Terry.
The prize bike will be auctioned at a Fourways Gentlemen's Evening at the Rendezvous on November 10.
A second cycle donated by AJB Cycles (Little Lever) boss Peter Berry -- a 21-speed Claud Butler Miura -- has been presented to Friends of Fourways chairman Peter Lloyd as a raffle prize for Sunday's Garden Party, which kicks off around 12.30pm. All the riders will hope to get there in time. They are being transported to the seaside by First Bus of Wigan, their bikes being carried by Hi-Tech Scaffolding.
