A CALLOUS thief who pounced on a boy and stole jewellery worth more than £100 is being hunted by police in Blackpool.
The boy, aged 14, was sitting on a wall in the Central Coach Park on Spine Road during the afternoon of Tuesday, August 8, when a man approached.
He began talking to the boy and offered to sell him some cheap beer. When the boy said he wasn't interested the man demanded his 9ct gold chain and a gold St Christopher chain, valued altogether at £110.
The boy refused but the man threatened to knock him out if he didn't hand them over so, fearing for his safety, he did.
The robber is described as 5ft 3, of medium build and approximately 30 years old. He has short and scruffy dark hair, a zig-zag scar on his nose and various scars on his face, and wore a green jacket, blue jeans and a white T-shirt. On Monday, August 7, at around 7.30pm, four youths walked up to a silver BMW Z3 parked in a driveway in Rathlyn Avenue, Blackpool, and scratched the bonnet, causing £300-worth of damage. One was around 5ft 11, with short blond hair, wearing black jeans and a black T-shirt.
Two thieves walked off with three crates of lager worth £48 from Booze Buster in Lytham Road, Blackpool, on Tuesday, August 1. They were challenged by staff but became threatening and abusive before running off with the lager. Both males were around 5ft 7 tall and spoke with Scottish accents. One was slim with short, dark hair and bright blue eyes. He wore a navy and white cap with a navy and white T-shirt and blue jeans. The other was tall and slim with dark hair.
Shortly before 11am on Friday, August 4, two thieves approached the flat of an 81-year-old lady in Beattock Road, Bispham, and knocked on the door. When she answered they went in and stole a brown leather handbag containing £200 cash and other items. One of the thieves was 6ft tall, aged around 17, slim built and wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. The other was 5ft 5, also aged 17 and slim built, and wore a beige coat and jeans.
