PRESTON North End Manager David Moyes is waiting on a late fitness test for his Finnish international goalkeeper Teuvo Moilanen for tomorrow's game against Sheffield United at Deepdale.
"Tepi has had a sore back but he came through training yesterday and we'll do a rain check on him and see if he's okay," said Moyes.
It will be a blow for Moyes to lose the shotstopper, who kept a club record 28 clean sheets last season, although David Lucas is a more than able deputy.
The North End manager still has something of a striker crisis with the loss of Icelandic international Bjarki Gunnlaugsson with a groin injury for a month and the collapse of the £800,000 deal to bring Sheffield Wednesday striker Richard Cresswell to Deepdale.
The deal had been accepted by both clubs, but Cresswell delayed while he was still sorting out his finances with the Owls and the deal ended up falling through.
"The lad seemed keen whenever I talked to him but he decided to stay, we decided not to pursue it further and now it's in the past.""
Captain Sean Gregan should play his final game before a three match ban.
SQUAD: Moilanen, Lucas, Alexander, Edwards, Murdoch, Gregan, Cartwright, Morgan, McKenna, Rankine, Anderson, Robinson, Parkinson, Appleton, Macken, Eyres, Basham
