WHAT a load of garbage. With regard to letter "double bobbies on beat to improve town's image" (Aug 10).
I always thought the Citizen was a good read. However, after reading this letter I was amazed it was even printed as it was inciting trouble. This letter was given pride of place on the letters page with enlarged letters for the title.
R S Whitehead writes: "Send the low-life back to where they came from (no prizes for guessing where they came from)".
I wonder what particular group the writer targets here and I wonder what group he actually belongs to? The language used is quite chilling and gave me a feeling of dread, "death squads", "vigilante groups", "stocks", and "string them up".
Mrs P O'Connor,
Portland Road, Blackpool.
Many of Mr Whitehead's comments were clearly tongue in cheek. Mrs O'Connor asked for the Citizen not to be delivered through her door any more and I have passed her letter on to our distribution department -- Editor.
