YET more fencing has appeared around the playing fields at Hazlehurst School in Ramsbottom. Perhaps they are hoping for a trophy for the best fenced school field!
I am amazed that one small primary school is allowed to use its budget on perimeter fencing which makes it look like a modern-day Colditz.
This school field appears to be the only one in the area on which children are not allowed to play after school hours. This seems very strange as they are rarely allowed on the field even during school hours.
While I appreciate that schools have to be protected from vandals, surely there is a limit to what should be done. I do not know why they don't go all the way and electrify the perimeter.
I now await with anticipation the installation of watch towers and searchlights.
VERY DISAPPOINTED,
Ramsbottom.
