A GANG of youths attacked two teenagers and stole an air rifle from one of them.
It happened on Saturday, when the two 17 year olds and their lurcher dog, were heading for a farmer's field in Garswood where they were planning to go ratting.
However, as they walked along Haydock Lane, a gang of between seven and 12 youths, all aged between 14 and 18, ran over and punched and kicked both boys, knocking them to the ground before stealing the Falcon air rifle, valued at £300.
Both victims sustained cuts and bruises and police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed or heard the assault to come forward.
