THE eight members are fully enthroned, as the 'Cabinet.'
Yet when this move was first broached we were told one of the reasons was that it would enable us to have better access and quicker response to our concerns. Well let's see!
One knows that they have severely burnt their fingers with the failed management of council houses and are now attempting to drop this hot potato.
This leaves the private sector.
Will the members responsible for housing please explain why this Labour-controlled council has adopted the most Draconian policy on housing fitness, possibly the lowest punitive standard anywhere in the UK when processing grant aid for renovation.
This will cause blight to large areas of the town, adding to the serious problems that already exist.
Could it be because they might have a secret long-term agenda and wish for a return to the massive demolition policies of the 1960's -- which left the town with a housing disaster.
Turn to Hyndburn who have an impressive fitness standard on housing renovation.
Could this have anything to do with Hyndburn having a modern, commonsense, progressive Conservative-controlled council with the necessary foresight?
