Traffic police are investigating three hit and run accidents, one involving a five-year-old girl.
Whitefield Primary School pupil Billy-Jo Grimes suffered leg and arm injuries on Sunday (Aug 20) at 7.10pm when she was struck down by a car in Alexandra Avenue, Whitefield. The vehicle failed to stop.
More than three hours later, police were called to Redvales Road in Bury when a grey Ford Fiesta car ploughed into several garden walls and a cable TV junction box before it was driven off at speed.
The previous evening (Sat Aug 19), shortly before midnight, a Mitsubishi Space Wagon was damaged when it was struck by a white Citroen van. The occupants abandoned the van at the accident scene in Moss Shaw Way, Radcliffe, and fled.
Anyone who witnessed any of the three fail to stop accidents should contact Bury Traffic Unit on 856 8072 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
