TO put the record straight, Witton Allotment and Garden Association has good relations with Blackburn with Darwen Council.
Also, to satisfy David George (Letters, August 17), as far as fencing is concerned, the council tenancy and assocation document states the council will supply and erect fencing after consultation with site secretaries.
He has brought pallets for a number of years. The problem is, apart from the odd piece of wood, they are damaged or broken.
Some allotment holders used corrugated sheets until we advised them to stop. After they had been dumped we discovered the sheets were made from asbestos.
Some allotment-holders have given Mr George produce off their allotments -- grown at their own expense.
Last word from most plotters is the rubbish he brings is not worth a spud or a lettuce.
D ROGERSON (Mr), Site Secretary, Witton Site, Blackburn.
