JACK Walker, man of vision, entrepreneur extraordinary, man of the century, successful businessman who built up one of the largest private steel stock holding companies in Europe if not in the world. Jack was also responsible for investing and building companies in many other fields.
The football fans only relate to Jack because of his success with the Rovers. Perhaps they do not know he was known internationally.
Jack Walker was a one-off, a born winner, a competitor who believed in thinking big and positive. Darts, snooker, arm wrestling, Jack was determined to win.
Nothing was impossible to Jack Walker. While building his Empire he provided employment to thousands of employees through the United Kingdom. He had a knack of selecting ordinary folk to take part in his dream and he promoted them and made them prosper.
Jack Walker would not suffer fools but he rewarded loyalty. Blackburn has produced many successful men and Jack must be in the top ten. He should have been knighted long ago.
A statue outside the Town Hall should be the least Blackburn can do.
