LANCASTER residents are being asked to help as the city council joins a major waste recycling drive.
A new 'three stream' waste collection strategy will see paper, glass and kitchen/garden waste collected strategy, as part of Lancashire's new waste management strategy.
Lancaster hopes to become the first council in the county to adopt the strategy, which will increase recycling and cut out landfill.
Environment committee chairman Cllr Mark Turner said: "We know that if we can make it convenient to recycle then it will work; we will do all that we can to make it easy for every body to participate.
"We are committed in principle to the strategy, though we do have concerns in certain areas and will be writing to the County Council."
