POLICE have again warned of a raffle ticket scam which is now targeting members of the public.
Two businesses have been stung by the con, but a householder in the Memorial Village area was conned out of £5 on Sunday, August 13.
The victim offered to buy one strip of tickets at a price of £1, but the seller claimed to have no change, and offered to return with the remaining £4.
And, after he failed to return, they contacted the children's charity who he claimed to represent who confirmed that they were not involved in the ticket sales. The man who sold the tickets is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, late 20s/early 30s of average build with short, cropped, dark hair and a tattoo on his face. He was accompanied by three children, aged four to eight, all described as smartly dressed and clean.
