A MOTORCYCLIST has died in hospital after a head-on crash with a LandRover on a country lane.
John Andrew Holden, 30, was riding his Kawasaki motorbike when the accident happened in the Yorkshire Dales on the B6255 Hawes to Ingleton road.
Mr Holden, of Brow Bottom, Grindleton, collided with a LandRover being driven towards Hawes by 53-year-old Nigel Corrigan, of Alma Avenue, Foulridge, Colne.
A police spokesman said the accident happened on the Landrover's side of the road on a left-hand bend at about 8pm on Tuesday.
Mr Holden was seriously injured and was taken to the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, where he later died.
His parents were told about the accident while they were abroad on holiday. They returned yesterday to their home on Grindleton Brow, Grindleton.
Police said Mr Holden's body had been identified by his sister Judith Holden. A post mortem examination found he had died of multiple injuries and an inquest has been opened into his death.
